Ok. I know that sounds disgusting but really. One of our best travel tips is to leave your toothbrush at home. This does not in no way mean do not brush your teeth. Brushing your teeth is ultra important and everyone will thank you for doing so.
When we travel, we always buy a brand new, really cheap toothbrush to use while we are away. Packing a toothbrush can turn into a bacterial slimy mess really quick, especially if you pack it with other toiletries. Even when using a cover. When you pack a toothbrush, chances are it is still wet from where you just used it. With no air to dry it, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. If you put it in a zip lock bag, it will just get all slimy and if you don’t? Well, it will be sure to catch any dripping shampoo and lotion. And nobody wants that.
Avoid all of this and get a new toothbrush when you travel.
Tip: If you don’t want to buy one, most hotels offer them complimentary at the front desk upon request.
